One of the main objectives of the scholarships offered by the Canadian University of Dubai is to promote the recruitment and retention of excellent academic results. At the same time, we understand the importance of difference and diversity, and we do not want financial restrictions or special needs to hinder the success of a good education.
Canadian University Dubai offers the following scholarships:
Scholarship of Academic Excellence
Sports Scholarship

Scholarship for special talents

Please note that the number of scholarships awarded is limited and that students must meet the minimum selection criteria of the category concerned for their application to be considered by the scholarship committee. The amount to be awarded depends on the specific criteria defined for each grant.
Guiding Principles for Awards at Canadian Universities in Dubai
The scholarships are open to all students of all nationalities who have met all the admission requirements.
Scholarships are awarded to full-time students enrolled in four or more courses per semester. For Financial and Special Needs Grants, the number of academic courses to be enrolled by students will be considered on a case-by-case basis, although as much as possible, a minimum of four academic courses is recommended. Please note that scholarships can only be awarded for credit courses.
Students must maintain the cumulative grade point average (CGPA) required to continue to receive scholarships. The specific requirements of the MBM vary according to the type of grant requested. These details are described in the specific descriptions of the scholarships.


The scholarships are not valid for the summer semesters.
The scholarships are only valid for current tuition fees.
Students may apply for more than one scholarship, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. In the event that a student is eligible for more than one discount, purse or discount, he will have the option of choosing the highest value purse.
All remaining fees (tuition and accommodation) must be paid promptly in order to receive and retain the scholarship.
Please note the following condition
Fellows or those who are entitled to a tuition fee reduction can not appeal the University's decision, or the percentage or amount of the reduction awarded. The decision to grant or refuse a cost reduction is final.

Scholarship of Academic Excellence

Terms and conditions

To be considered eligible for the Academic Excellence Scholarship, students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits.
Fall semester scholarships are valid for one year, provided that the MBM is managed according to the information below and provided that students enroll for at least 12 credits per semester.
The scholarships awarded for the spring semester are valid for one semester only.
Scholarships do not apply to summer semesters.
Applicants must send their scholarship application forms and all supporting documents to the following address: scholars@cud.ac.ae.

Late or incomplete scholarship applications will not be considered by the scholarship committee.
Scholarship award for academic excellence
Tuition waiver of 50%
High school students must have achieved an academic average of 99% * or higher to apply for a 50% waiver of tuition fees.
For current CUD students renewing their scholarship, the MPC for the semester to the end of the semester must be 3.98 or higher to continue receiving a 50% tuition waiver.
40% waiver
High school students must have reached an academic average of between 95 and 98.9% * in order to qualify for an exemption from
e 40% of tuition fees.
For current CUD students renewing their bursary, the MPC for the semester to the end of the semester must be between 3.95 and 3.97 to continue to receive a 40% waiver for tuition fees.
Tuition waiver of 30%
High school students must have reached an academic average of between 90 and 94.9% * in order to qualify for a 30% waiver of tuition fees.
For current CUD students renewing their bursary, the MPC for the semester to the end of the semester must be between 3.9 and 3.94 to continue to receive a 30% waiver for tuition fees.
20% tuition waiver
High school students must have reached an academic average of between 85 and 89.9% * to qualify for a 20% waiver of tuition fees.
For current CUD students renewing their bursary, the MPC for the semester to the end of the semester must be between 3.85 and 3.89 to continue to receive a 20% waiver for tuition fees.
Tuition waiver of 10% (students already enrolled)
High school students who have benefited from an automatic 20% waiver of their first semester tuition at CUD and who maintained a GPA of 3.8 to 3.84, may be eligible for a 10% waiver tuition fees for the following semester.

Sports Scholarship
This scholarship is for elite athletes and talented athletes from all sports who have competed and have achieved at least the city level. Sports scholarships are awarded according to the level of achievement of the candidate and his academic achievements. A tuition waiver of up to 40% may be applied accordingly.
Terms and conditions
Sports scholarships are only valid for one semester.
Students can reapply every semester to continue their scholarship.
The deadlines for the fall semester (July 7) and the spring semester (December 20) must be respected.
Sports scholarships do not apply to summer sessions.
To be eligible, high school candidates must have a minimum academic performance of 70%.
Returning students must attain a minimum of 3.0 MPC in order to apply for / re-apply for a sport scholarship.
Successful applicants will be required to support the sport department at various events and will contribute up to 15 hours per month of community service as part of their commitment to the University.
Applications for the sport scholarship must include:
Completed application form
Brief biography including the relevant sports achievements
Scanned copies of the coach's and / or candidate's physical education teacher's references on the institution's letterhead
Scanned copies of certificates relevant to the sport for which the candidate is applying

Financial Scholarship
The purpose of these scholarships is to promote access to higher education for students in financial difficulty. A tuition waiver of up to 40% may be applied as assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Terms and conditions
Financial hardship grants are valid for one semester only.
Students can reapply every semester to continue their scholarship.
The deadlines for the fall semester (July 7) and the spring semester (December 20) must be respected.
Financial hardship scholarships do not apply to summer semesters
To be eligible, high school applicants must have a minimum academic performance of 75%.
Returning students are required to attain a minimum of 2.8 MPC in order to apply / re-apply for a financial hardship award.
Successful applicants will be required to contribute up to 15 hours per month of community service as part of their commitment to the University.
Financial hardship applications must include:
Completed application form
Current rental agreement
Bank statements
Employee Certificate and Statement of Pay for each employee family member
Copy of passport and visa for all family members
Tuition Certificates for Each Brother
All documents will be kept confidential. The Scholarship Committee will not be able to consider any applications with incomplete documentation when awarding scholarships for financial difficulties.

Special Needs Scholarship
At the Canadian University of Dubai, we are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and supporting the cognitive, emotional and creative development of students with disabilities. Special needs may be justified by a physical or other disability.
Students eligible for a special needs bursary will receive a tuition reduction of up to 40%.
Terms and conditions
For students applying for the Special Needs Scholarship upon admission to the university, the academic average will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee on a case-by-case basis.
For current students, a minimum CGPA of 2.0 is required to qualify for the scholarship.
The deadlines for the fall semester (July 7) and the spring semester (December 20) must be respected.
Special scholarships are not valid for summer sessions.
Students are required to provide an up-to-date, professionally documented diagnosis that will be kept confidential.
The scholarship application is reviewed and submitted to the discretion of the scholarship committee.

Scholarship for special talents
This scholarship is for elite and talented individuals from all fields who have competed and succeeded at the city level or beyond. Scholarships for Special Talents are awarded based on the candidate's level of achievement and academic performance. A tuition waiver of up to 40% may be applied accordingly.
Terms and conditions
Special Talent Grants are valid for one semester only.
Students can reapply every semester to continue their scholarship.
The deadlines for the fall semester (July 7) and the spring semester (December 20) must be respected.
Special Talent Scholarships do not apply to summer sessions.
To be eligible, high school candidates must have a minimum academic performance of 70%.
Returning students must attain a minimum of 3.0 MPC to apply / apply for a Special Talent Scholarship.
Successful applicants will be required to contribute up to 15 hours per month of community service as part of their commitment to the University.
Nominations for the Special Talent Grant must include
